"Navigating Stevenson" is a visual portrait of Robert Louis Stevenson, Scottish writer and poet of the 19th century. This work was conducted in collaboration with The Writer's Museum and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, using Stevenson's family photographic albums from his pacific voyages and the rare and delicate artefacts and personal possessions from the museum displays.

The exhibition "Navigating Stevenson" consists of nine large digital panels, the Stevenson Pacific Photograph albums and the Count Nerli oil portrait of R.L.S. Each image has been constructed using a combination of photography, CAD (Computer Aided Design) software and digital imaging.

"Navigating Stevenson" is held at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh from 31 January to 11 May 2003 and on tour 2003-2004 at Callender House, Falkirk; Collins Gallery, University of Strathclyde, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery.

"Navigating Stevenson" is supported by the Scottish Arts Council, Napier University, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Southern & South-East Arts and Falmouth College of Arts.
